Need Your Help: Foundation Recommendations

Im looking for a new foundation but i dont know which one i should buy. I want a foundation that gives me good coverage and that is perfect for dry skin.
I have tried a few foundations but they dry out my skin and make it look flaky, not pretty.

Do you have a foundation to recommend me?

xoxo Christine

  1. nyx have a new foundation and on their facebook fan page a lot of people praised it, I'm definitely going to try it out but I'm not sure whether it's good or not. The one I'm currently using is by maybelline, but I am not a big fan so wouldn't recommend it.

  2. MAC studio sculpt is awesome and rich for dry skin :)

Make Up For Ever High Definition foundation is a dream at coverage

Revlon PhotoReady foundation is the best drugstore brand one.

    hope that helps!

  3. a couple of things could be exacerbating the appearance of the dryness. i suffer from combination skin. oily in tzone, but the rest is dry. i saw a vid on YT by gossmakeup artist re: using mac 187 to apply foundation. he said if you suffer from dry skin, that may not be the best method b/c after stippling, the buffing may act like a mini exfoliation. YIKES! he suggested using a sponge instead. i somex use a flat foundation brush. i use a dabbing motion. this prevents streaks.
to combat my dry skin, i use microfiber washcloths to exfoliate. i use a good moisturizer (olay night x cream). i also invested in MUFE the elixir on stubborn dry patches. this can be used just after moisturizing or even on top of foundation. I heard the MAC Studio Tech (cream) breaks a lot of people out. I think it contains silicone. ??? right now i'm using mac select spf liquid foundation. it provides medium coverage. i'm looking for a new HG one though. eyeing the NARS Sheer Glow & MUFE HD. pricey, but worth it IMHO. Sorry this is so very long. LOL HTH (hope this helps) XXX

  5. I have very dry skin in the winter and Rimmel lasting finish foundation works great for me plus its pretty cheap. I have gotten so many compliments with it too!

  6. I am loving Laura Mercier's mineral foundation, I know that might scare you with dry skin but I tend to have dry skin and this still applies beautifully. Just ensure you have a good moisturizer, let that sink in 15-20 mins & then I use my favourite primer & the LM foundation. Good luck with your search.

  9. My top 2 foundations would be MAC's Pro Longwear foundation or Makeup Forever's HD foundation. Both have excellent coverage, but Im not sure how they work with dry skin and my skin is more oily.
