NAILS OF THE DAY: VALENTINE'S DAY

Happy Friday! How are you doing today? Do you have any Valentine's Day plans? Simon and I are going out for dinner later, then maybe catching a movie tonight. We both want to go and see The Lego Movie, it looks really fun. Have you seen it yet? We'll see what we end up doing, nothing is final yet!

It's been a while since I've played around with nail art! I wanted to put together a cute look for Valentine's Day. I fell in love with this beautiful look, so I wanted to re-create it and share it with guys. This is my very first time trying out nail art water decals, and so far I really like it. There are so many fun and cute designs to choose from, definitely want to get my hands on some more designs :-)

I decided to finish off the look with this pretty, golden bow ring from Born Pretty Store. It's such a pretty and romantic ring, which I thought went perfectly with this nail look. What do you guys think?

SWATCH OF THE WEEK VOL.5: NCLA NAIL LACQUERS IN AS IF, LIKE TOTALLY VALLEY GIRL & SANTA MONICA SHORE THING

A while ago, I was contacted by the lovely Jennifer from Bollare who represent a bunch off really fabulous brands. She sent me a little beauty care package filled with some lovely goodies. Three pretty, pastel nail polishes from ncLA were a few off the items that were hiding in the box.

ncLA is a brand that is quite new to me. I have seen their nail polishes reviewed and swatched on different beauty blogs, but I have never actually tried them out for myself. So I thought I would swatch the three shades that I got for you today, and also share my opinion on them as well. Here we go! :-)

♥ ncLA Nail Lacquer in As If (HERE).

As If ($16.00 for 15ml/.5 fl. oz.) is a pretty pastel purple with a creamy finish. It's easy to apply. I did find it to be a little sheer on the first coat, but it didn't look streaky or patchy on my nails. It dries quickly, and it's fully opaque in two coats.

As If is similar to Little Girl Type by MAC, which is one off my favorite pastel purple nail polishes!

Like Totally Valley Girl ($16.00 for 15ml/.5 fl. oz.) is a light pink with a creamy finish. Like As If, the application was very easy and I didn't notice any streaking either. It's a little sheer on the first coat, but nothing too crazy. It's such a pretty and girly shade, which dries quickly and is fully opaque in three coats.

Santa Monica Shore Thing ($16.00 for 15ml/.5 fl. oz.) is a pretty light pastel green with a creamy finish. It's very thick, smooth and easy to apply. It's not sheer like As If and Like Totally Valley Girl, and it didn't go on looking streaky or patchy either. It dries quickly and it's completely opaque in two coats.

Overall, I really like all three shades here, but my favorite one is Santa Monica Shore Thing. I'm a big fan off those pastel blue/mint green shades, it's just something about those shades that draws my attention. Santa Monica Shore Thing is a real stunner, and I can't wait for spring and summer to arrive so I can wear it more often. You can check out the entire ncLA nail polish range HERE! :-)

MUA MAKEUP ACADEMY MATTE LIPSTICK IN PEACHY KEEN: REVIEW, PHOTOS & SWATCHES

♥ MUA Makeup Academy Matte Lipstick in Peachy Keen.

MUA Makeup Academy Matte Lipstick in Peachy Keen (£1.00 for 3.8g.) is a peachy pink with a matte finish. The color payoff is nice, but I did find it to be quite drying on my lips. My lips are very dry to begin with due to the cold weather, which made it cling to all the dry patches on my lips. I exfoliated my lips before the application which made it look a bit better, but it still looks quite dry and unflattering on me. It might work a lot better for me during spring and summer though!

Peachy Keen comes in a white and silver tube. It's got a little sticker with the name off the shade on the side off the tube, as well as a little sample off the lipstick on the bottom off the container. I'm a big fan off the white and silver packaging, it looks simple yet cute at the same time. I really like that the shade off the lipstick is peeking through the bottom off the tube, it makes organizing my lipsticks a lot easier. I love it when I don't have to dig through everything to find the shade that I'm looking for! :-)

Peachy Keen has a sweet and delicious candy scent, which reminds me off a lollipop candy that I used to love when I was a child. Unfortunately it's not available in stores anymore, so I guess I have to settle with a good sniff off the lipstick every once and a while, LOL! :-)

Overall, if you have a thing for matte lipsticks Peachy Keen might be right up your alley. The shade is super pretty, but I don't like how it looks on me to be honest. It looks a bit off with my skin tone, and I think it makes me look a bit washed out as well. I can always go over it with a darker lip gloss to warm up the shade, but the dryness is still a big issue for me.

Also, my lips are quite pigmented so the true color off the lipstick doesn't show up that well on my lips. If you have pigmented lips like myself, I do recommend that you use a lip eraser/concealer to erase the color off your natural lips. It's going to make it pop and show up more true to it's color! :-)

MY MONTHLY FAVORITES: JANUARY 2014

♥ Monthly Favorites: January 2014.

Happy Monday lovelies, how are you all doing today? Did you have a nice weekend? Simon and I saw the movie The Wolf of Wall Street on Saturday, which was freaking fantastic. Have you guys seen it yet? I highly recommend that you go and check it out if you haven't seen it. I love Leonardo DiCaprio as an actor and this was one off his best performances, if not the best! Totally worth checking out :-)

Anyway, another month has passed, can you believe it? I haven't done a monthly favorites post in a while now, so I'm excited to share my favorites with you. I don't have too many beauty products to share with you, but there are still some really great items here. So without further ado, here are the items that I have been loving for the month off January! :-)

♥ L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Base Pure Light Primer.

I have been using the L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Base Pure Light Primer every single day during the month off January. I like to mix it with my BB cream or foundation, it gives my skin such a pretty and natural looking glow. It can also be applied like a regular primer before foundation, but I find mixing them together is a lot easier and less messy as well. If you love glowy looking skin, you might want to check out this product! :-)

♥ Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette & Clinique Color Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Like Mink.

♥ Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette & Clinique Color Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Like Mink.

My go-to eyeshadows for the month off January has been the Naked Basics Palette by Urban Decay, and the Color Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Like Mink by Clinique. The Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette is such a nice and handly little palette, perfect for creating quick and easy neutral eye looks. The Clinique Color Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Like Mink is a pretty little duo, which I have been taking with me on vacation trips a lot. It's quick, easy and it doesn't take up much room in your makeup bag! :-)

♥ Milani Cosmetics Baked Blush in Luminoso.

The baked blushes by Milani Cosmetics are some off my favorite blushes on the beauty market. They are so pretty and I love how pigmented they all are (a little goes a long way with these). They don't have the biggest shade selection, but the shades that they do have are gorgeous. Luminoso is a pretty peach with shimmer. It's really easy to blend and it gives the skin such a pretty glow. If you haven't tried out Milani's baked blushes yet, I highly recommend that you give them a go. Berry Amore, Dolce Pink and Luminoso are my favorites! :-)

♥ Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick in 08 Rossetto.

The Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick in 08 Rossetto has been my favorite lipstick for the month off January. It's easy to apply and it feels very creamy and moisturizing on the lips. My lips have been awfully dry lately due to the cold weather, so I'm trying to keep my lips as hydrated as I can. I'm very pleased with this lipstick, and I'm very curious about trying out a few off the other shades in the range! :-)

♥ TV Show: Sons Of Anarchy. Photo Source, HERE

A non beauty favorite this month has been the TV show Sons of Anarchy. I'm on season 5 at the moment, and it just keeps getting better and better. It's about a guy who struggles to find a balance in his life between being a new dad and being involved in a motorcycle club.

The show is really addicting, so you won't be able to stop watching it, LOL! Let me know if you decide to check it out, would love to hear what you think about it. If you are keeping up with the show, who is your favorite character? I love Jax, Tig and Tara! :-)

Which products have you been loving for the month off January? What TV shows are you currently watching? Any favorites? :-) Love, Christine♥
