QUESTION OF THE WEEK: WHAT FOUNDATION ARE YOU CURRENTLY USING?

Being a pale girl can be quite the challenge when it comes to finding the right foundation shade. I have bought several foundations in the past couple of years and almost all of them have been too dark for my pale complexion. I have even gotten color matched in a couple of stores without any luck, so now I always make sure to ask for samples because it's just not worth spending that much money on a product that you can't use.

♥ Maybelline Fit Me Liquid Foundation, (HERE).

If you have been an active reader of my blog for a while now, you might have seen me rave about the Fit Me Liquid Foundation from Maybelline. It's been a favorite of mine for a couple of years now and it's a foundation that I always end up going back to if I'm in a hurry or if I'm stuck in a rut and not sure what to use on my face.

Fit Me is really easy to apply and it blends like a dream. I would say that the coverage is light to medium, it's build able and long lasting as well. It feels nice and light on the skin and you can't really tell that it's there once you set it with a powder. I don't know about you, but I can't stand it when I can feel the makeup on my face, it instantly makes me want to run to the bathroom and wash it off.

There are so many different ways to apply foundation. I like to apply the Fit Me Liquid foundation with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush, then go over the entire face with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to make it look softer and not so heavy-looking on the skin. I find that using the Buffing Brush first gives me more coverage then if I were to just apply it with the Miracle Complexion Sponge. I only use the Buffing Brush on days that I want the extra coverage. If I'm going for a no-makeup look, I only use the Miracle Complexion Sponge and it makes the foundation look so natural and beautiful on the skin.

For those of you who really struggle to find the right foundation shade, I highly recommend that you check out the Foundation Matrix by Temptalia. It's such an amazing tool that is going to help you find your perfect match. All you have to do is type in the brand and shade of the foundation that you are currently using and it will match you with several shades by different brands that are similar to the one that you are using. You can also start from scratch and fill out your primary undertone and skin tone and it will look up foundations for you that are closest to your undertone and skin tone.

There is no doubt that the foundation matrix has helped me out a lot and made shopping for foundations online so much easier. If there is a foundation that I really want to try out, I always make sure to check out the foundation matrix to see what color would be best suited for me and my pale complexion! :-)

What foundation are you currently using? Do you have a must have foundation in your collection? :-)

  1. This post has been so helpful. I am incredibly pale and even the palest shades are too orange for my skintone. At the moment I am using a foundation by Sephora. It was the palest in the store but it is just a little bit too dark so I have to mix it with a foundation by Revlon. I will definitely check out Fit Me by Maybelline! xx

    1. Thank you so much! <3 Definitely let me know if you get a chance to try out the Fit Me foundation from Maybelline. They have released 105, which is a very pale shade. Might be worth checking out, I will be picking up a bottle next time I'm at the mall :-) x

  5. I'm currently obsessed with the Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Liquid Foundation. It definitely doesn't lie when it says it lasts 14 hours. It's in the medium-to-full coverage range, but it doesn't dry my skin out, which is a huge plus. Also not too matte or too dewy of a finish. I apply it with my Beautyblender sponge and then add Maybelline Fit Me concealer. Great post!

  6. I have yet to try that foundation matrix. I have to say I'm a bit of a snob lately I just go to sephora and ask to get matched. I used to love that foundation but it just left me too greasy.
