MONTHLY FAVORITES: MAY 2015

June is right around the corner, which means that it's time for me to share the beauty items that I have been loving this month. May has been a good month! It's one of my favorite months, because it's when it finally starts to get warmer outside. Everything starts to blossom and grow and the sun is shining all day long.

I hope you enjoy this favorites post and that you find a couple of products that you want to try out for yourself, maybe even some old favorites that you might have forgotten all about. So without any further ado, here are the items that I have been enjoying in May! :-)
 ♥ Escada Marine Groove, (HERE).

Escada Marine Groove is one of my favorite perfumes for Spring and Summer. It has a very fresh, sweet and fruity scent, which is perfect for this time of the year. I have been reaching for it non-stop since the beginning of April and I just can't seem to get enough of it. Unfortunately, I think it has been discontinued because I can't find it in stores anymore. I have seen it on eBay, but it's quite expensive for a bottle there. I don't have much left, so I really want to get my hands on a new one. Do you know any websites that still have this perfume in stock? Thank you so much! :-)
Bottega Verde Liminous Pearly Make-Up Base with Peach Kernel Oil and Vitamin E, (HERE).

Another favorite of mine during May has been the Luminous Pearly Make-Up Base with Peach Kernel Oil and Vitamin E by the brand Bottega Verde. I like the beautiful glow that it gives my skin, while evening out the complexion at the same time. I like to mix it with my foundation, which creates the most beautiful, natural looking glow. It can also be used as a primer before applying your foundation or even as a liquid highlighter if you want. I also like to use it on my cheekbones on days that I'm not wearing any makeup on my face, it instantly makes me look more fresh and awake! :-)
♥ Makeup Geek Blush in Romance, (HERE).

♥ Makeup Geek Blush in Romance, (HERE).

A product that I have been reaching for and enjoying a lot during May is the Makeup Geek Blush in Romance. Romance is a beautiful peach blush with golden shimmer. It reminds me a lot of Hot Mama by theBalm, which is one of my all-time favorite blushes. Romance is more peach while Hot Mama is more on the pink side. Romance is the perfect blush for everyday. It's got great pigmentation and it's very easy to blend as well. It leaves behind a very fresh and glowy look, which is perfect for this season! :-)
♥ Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste in Fair, (HERE).

A beauty product that I have re-discovered my love for in May is the Erase Paste by Benefit Cosmetics. The Erase Paste is a concentrated cream concealer for bright and smooth under eyes. My favorite way to use it is to start by applying it under my eyes first, then go over it with my concealer afterwards. The Erase Paste is easy to blend and it doesn't look too heavy under the eyes. It covers up dark circles and discoloration quite nicely, while brightening up the under eye area and making you look more awake. It has a pinky tone to it, which is going to neutralize any bluish/greenish veins and under eye circles.

I highly recommend that you check out Erase Paste by Benefit Cosmetics, a little goes a long way with this product! I'm not sure if Benefit Cosmetics give out samples of their Erase Paste, but if they do you should totally try and get your hands on one to see if you like it or not. It's a big favorite of mine, two thumbs up from me! :-)

What products have you been loving this month? Have you tried out any of the products that I mentioned above? What product has been your most reached for product in May? :-)

Love, Christine ♥

2014 BEAUTY FAVORITES

2014 is over, which means that it's time for me to share my favorite beauty products from the past year! At first I thought that this was going to be a very difficult task for me to pull of, but it was actually surprisingly easy to narrow it down to only 14 products. You might have seen a lot of these products in my monthly favorites posts already, but let's go on and take another look at them! :-)
♥ Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette, (HERE).

♥ Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette, (HERE).

The Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette has been my most loved and used palette back in 2014. It has a beautiful selection of six neutral eye shadows, one shimmery shade and five matte shades. Every shade in this little palette is gorgeous! They are all pigmented and easy to blend, but they are a bit powdery. I personally don't mind that, but that might be a deal breaker for some of you. If you love neutral eyeshadow palettes, the Naked Basics Palette is definitely worth checking out, it's a wonderful little palette for everyday wear! :-)

♥ Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 15, (HERE) & Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 110, (HERE).

The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 15 has been my favorite and most used concealer from the past year. It's very easy to blend and it has nice coverage. It doesn't crease too much under my eyes, which is one of the reasons why I really like it. I like to use it in combination with the Maybelline Fit Me foundation, because they work so well together! :-)

I'm sure that this next product won't come as a shock to anyone of you who have been keeping up with my monthly favorites posts! It's the Fit Me foundation by Maybelline New York! This foundation has been a huge favorite of mine for a couple of years now and also my go-to foundation throughout the entire year of 2014.

If you are looking for a foundation that will give you some coverage and still look natural on the skin, this one is a great one to add to your collection. It's very easy to apply and it blends flawlessly into the skin. I like to apply it with my damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. The sponge makes it look very natural and not too cakey and heavy, as it would if you used a brush.

♥ Stila Cosmetics One Step Correct, (HERE).

Another product that have adored and been using non-stop in 2014 is the One Step Correct by Stila Cosmetics. You might have seen this beauty featured in a couple of my monthly favorites posts already. If you haven't seen them and you're not familiar with it, it's a color-corrector, brightener and anti-aging skincare serum primer. It contains 3 color-correcting brighteners. A green tone which instantly neutralizes redness and conceals blemishes, a lavender tone which counteracts sallow undertones for a vibrant, energized look and a peach tone which brightens, illuminates and helps diminish the appearance of sun spots.

It neutralizes my skin and makes it look less red and more even. It also makes my foundation go on smoother and look a lot better. It leaves behind a nice and natural looking glow as well, which I'm a big fan of. It feels very nice and hydrating on the skin, so it's a lovely product to add to you're makeup routine if you suffer from dry skin! :-)

♥ Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional Pro Balm, (HERE).

Another beauty favorite from the past year has been the Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional Pro balm. It's a primer that minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines. It's easy to apply and it feels silky smooth and lightweight on the skin. It makes my makeup go on even and stay put throughout the day. Definitely a product worth checking out if you are looking for a new primer to try out! :-)

♥ MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle, (HERE).

MAC Cosmetics's Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle was my most used and loved highlighter thoughout the entire year of 2014. It's really shimmery and pretty and it make my cheeks look so glowy and beautiful, it's a real stunner. I know MAC Cosmetics isn't the most affordable beauty brand available on the beauty market, but if you were to buy only one product from their range, I highly recommend that you check out Soft and Gentle.

Give it a good swatch the next time you are at your local MAC counter, I'm almost sure that you are going to fall head over heels in love with it just like I did the first time that I tried it out. It's definitely a must have in my book! It's going to be with you for a very long time, you probably won't need to buy another highlighter again for a very, very long time! :-)

♥ Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara in Black, (HERE).

The Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara in Black has been one of my favorite mascaras in 2014. It gives my lashes some much needed length and volume, without making them look clumpy and stuck together. It's also easy to remove, which is very important to me. If a mascara is a pain in the butt to remove, I will most likely not be buying it again. The Rimmel London Lash Accelerator is a mascara that I will be re-purchasing over and over again, because that is how much I enjoy using it! :-)

♥ Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Eyeliner Pencil in 12L, (HERE).

The Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 12L is a beautiful, blue eyeliner pencil with green highlights. It's nice and creamy, long lasting and I like that it makes my green eyes pop. I love how it looks paired with a bronzed eye, it just compliments it so well and it's how I have been wearing it since I got it. As for the staying power, it does last a while on the waterline before it fades away and needs to be re-applied. I'm really impressed with this eyeliner pencil from Make Up For Ever, I'm really tempted to go on Sephora's website and order a couple more shades from this range, they all look so pretty! :-)

♥ NYX Cosmetics Powder Blush in Peach, (HERE).

NYX Cosmetics's Powder Blush in Peach is another product that have been getting a lot of love from me in 2014. It's a beautiful peachy pink blush with a satin finish. It blends beautifully into the skin, while leaving behind a very natural look. If you have a fair/light complexion like myself, you need this blush in your life. It's the perfect everyday blush, I just can't say enough good things about it! :-)

♥ Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Powder, (HERE).

Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Powder has been my favorite powder to use to set my under eye concealer in 2014. I like that it doesn't look too heavy under my eyes, it doesn't settle into my fine lines and it keeps my concealer in place throughout the day.

I have heard some people say that this have made them look extremely white in photos. I haven't had that problem. I only use a teeny amount of powder to set my concealer, so that might be the reason why? A little goes a long way with this powder, so it's going to last you a good while. I bought mine a couple of years ago and it doesn't even look like I've used it. I highly recommend this powder from Make Up For Ever, it's one of the best powders that I have tried! :-)

♥ Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow, (HERE).

If you haven't had a chance to try out Gimme Brow by Benefit Cosmetics yet, you definitely need to jump on the bandwagon and give it a try. It's been my go-to brow product for months now and it has quickly become a staple in my daily makeup bag. I'm not good at filling in my brows with pencil or powder, so this is right up my alley. It's so quick and easy to use and it makes the eyebrows look very natural and pretty. It instantly gives them a boost and makes them look more put together, without looking too overdone. Definitely a must try! :-)

♥ Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray, (HERE).

The Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray has been my go-to and favorite makeup setting spray in 2014. What I really love about this makeup setting spray is that it really does make my makeup last longer and it keeps it looking nice and fresh and pretty throughout the entire day. It has prevented my makeup from melting of my face during Summer, it's truly heaven in a bottle. It's hands down the best makeup setting spray that I have tried so far, it's definitely worth checking out if you are looking for one to try out for yourself! :-)

♥ Makeup Revolution Lip Geek Lipstick in Totally NOT Boring, (HERE).

Makeup Revolution's Lip Geek Lipstick in Totally NOT Boring has made it into my 2014 beauty favorites! Totally NOT Boring is a beautiful, deep pinky purple with a cream finish. It has great pigmentation and a nice creamy texture, which glides on the lips like butter.

If you love a pretty dark lip, Totally NOT Boring is worth adding to your lipstick collection. Makeup Revolution's entire Lip Geek lipstick range is currently on sale for only £1.99 so if you have been wanting to try these out, now is definitely the right time to do it! :-)

♥ Carmex Lip Balm in Cherry, (HERE).

The Carmex Lip Balm in Cherry has been a huge favorite of mine in 2014! It's been a lifesaver during the past couple of months when it's been really dry and cold outside. It has kept my lips nice, soft and moisturized throughout the day, which have been so amazing. No more chapped and painful lips, hurray! At night, right before I go to bed, I like to apply a thick coat of this lip balm. When I wake up the next morning, my lips feel so soft and smooth, it's incredible. It has a cherry scent and taste which I didn't like when I tried it out for the first time, but now I actually find myself enjoy it a lot! :-)

So there you have it, my favorite beauty products from 2014. What products were your favorites from the past year? :-)

FIVE MOST USED: BASE PRODUCTS

I have decided to start a new little series on my blog called Five Most Used. In these blog posts, I will be sharing my five most used beauty products in various categories. I was inspired by the lovely Jess from Just Jess to do this series on my blog. I'm so excited and I can't wait to start sharing some of my favorite and most used beauty products with you all! :-)

I thought I would start off this post with my five most used base products, since they are the first step in my makeup routine. I hope you enjoy this new series on my blog, be sure to let me know which category you would like to see next! :-)

♥ Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional, HERE.

The POREfessional from Benefit Cosmetics has been my go-to primer for a while now. It's very smooth and it feels very soft on the skin. It minimizes the appearance of pores and blurs out any imperfections on the skin. It also makes the foundation go on easier and look more smooth and even! :-)
♥ Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 110 & 115, HERE

I have expressed my love for the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in quite a few blog posts, the Top 10 tag being the most recent one. It has been a big favorite of mine for a while now. I love how natural it looks on the skin, it doesn't feel heavy or make my skin look cakey. It's so easy to apply and it has a very nice and fresh finish on the skin.

Like I mentioned in my Top 10 tag post, I use both 110 and 115. 110 has a yellow undertone, but it's a bit light on it's own. 115 has more of a pink undertone, but it's slightly dark for my skin tone. So I like to mix and match these two shades together to create a more wearable color for myself. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the market for a new foundation! :-)

♥ Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light, HERE

On days that I'm not in the mood to wear any foundation but still want to look somewhat decent and put together, the Dream Fresh BB Cream from Maybelline is my go-to product. It feels very lightweight on the skin, it looks very natural while giving the skin a nice and fresh look.

I have already gone though a couple tubes of this BB cream and I really like it. Are you a fan of BB creams? Which one is your favorite? :-)

♥ Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 15, HERE.

I can't seem to get enough of the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. I have been sticking to this concealer for a couple of years now and it's always the one that I end up going back to. I just like how easy it is to apply and blend. It has a nice coverage and it doesn't crease too much under my eyes.

I always start by applying just a little bit of the concealer under my eyes, then I go back and apply more if I feel like I need it. By starting with applying just a little concealer, I'm preventing it from creasing and looking cakey under the eyes! :-)

♥ Rimmel London Stay Matte Long Lasting Powder in Translusent, HERE

The Rimmel London Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder has been a big favorite of mine ever since the wonderful Krystal from Beauty by Krystal sent it to me in a makeup swap that we did together a while ago.

I like using this powder to set my under eye concealer and to prevent it from moving around throughout the day. I sometimes like to use it to set my foundation in place, but I mostly just use it under my eyes. It's a very nice powder and it's quite affordable as well, which is always a big plus in my book! :-)

Have you tried out any of the products above? What do you think about them? What category in this new blog series would you like me to do next? :-) Love, Christine♥

TAG: TOP 10

I came across the Top 10 tag over at Cliona's blog called Cliona Hill, which was originally created by Jessica from Pretty Chit Chat. I wasn't tagged by the girls to do this, but I thought it would be fun to do it anyway since I'm a huge fan of fun tags like this one.

The Top 10 tag is all about the top 10 beauty products that you can't live without. So if you were going away and you could only take one item from each category with you, what products would you pick? This is where it gets interesting, lol. I have so many favorite products that I love and adore, so it's definitely not easy for me to choose just ten products. I finally managed to narrow it down to just ten products. These are all products that I have been a fan of for a while now, some are even favorites that I have been loving for a couple of years. Keep reading to find out what products I chose for my ''going away'' trip! :-)

♥ Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 110 & 115, HERE

1. Foundation:
There are lots of foundations that I really like and love to use, but my favorite one is hands down the Fit Me Foundation by Maybelline. I have talked about this foundation a lot in previous blog posts, like my monthly favorites.

The Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is very easy to apply. It looks very natural on the skin and it doesn't feel heavy or look cakey. It has a lovely finish, which makes my skin look very nice and fresh. I use both 110 and 115. 110 has a yellow undertone and looks a bit too light on it's own, while 115 has a pink undertone but is a little on the darker side. I like to mix and match both of these shades together to create a more wearable shade for myself. It's not always easy being a pale ghost in the beauty world! :-)

♥ Rimmel London Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in Transparent, HERE

2. Powder:
I'm loving the Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder by Rimmel London. I have been using it almost every single day since the lovely Krystal from Beauty by Krystal sent it to me in a swap that we did together a while ago.

I mostly use the Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder to set and prevent my under eye concealer from moving around throughout the day. Sometimes, I like to use it on the rest of my face too, just to keep my foundation in place if it's a hot day. It's such a nice powder. It works great and it's really affordable as well! :-)

♥ Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 15, HERE

3. Concealer:
Definitely the Maybelline Fit Me concealer. It's very easy to blend and it has a nice coverage as well. I love using it with the Fit Me foundation, because they work so well together. It doesn't crease too much under my eyes. I prefer to apply just a little concealer under my eyes, then go back and apply more if I feel like I need some more coverage. That way I won't apply too much product at once and it's going to prevent it from creasing and looking cakey.

This is my second tube of the Fit Me concealer. I don't have much left in the tube, so I need to get my hands on a new one soon! :-)

♥ Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Radiant Magenta, HERE

♥ Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Radiant Magenta, HERE

4. Blush:
I have been obsessed with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Radiant Magenta for the past month. This blush is rather new to my makeup collection, but I have been using it almost every single day since I got it. It blends easily into the skin. It's got a bit of shimmer in it, which gives the cheeks a nice glow. You can build it up and make it more intense if you want to, or you can sheer it and make it look very natural on the cheeks.

I know that Hourglass isn't the cheapest brand out there, but this blush is so worth the money in my opionion. Everything about this blush is just beautiful. If you are thinking about splurging on an Ambient Lighting Blush from Hourglass, Radiant Magenta is a good choice! :-)

♥ The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in 01, HERE

♥ The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in 01, HERE

5. Bronzer:
I have been really into the Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder by The Body Shop. It looks very natural on the skin. It's easy to apply and blend, has nice pigmentation, it's build able and it doesn't make you look orange like some bronzers do. After hearing so many lovely things about this bronzer, I just had to add it to my collection. It's the perfect bronzer for girls with a fair/light skin tone.

♥ MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle, HERE

♥ MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle, HERE

6. Highlighter:
I'm still sticking to my MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle. It's been my favorite highlighter for the past couple of years now, it's also my most used highlighter in my entire makeup collection. I just love how it looks on the skin, very beautiful and glowy.

Soft and Gente isn't one of the the most affordable highlighters on the beauty market, but I think it's worth every penny. A little goes a long way with this one so it's going to last you a very long time, definitely a must have in my book! :-)

♥ Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara, HERE

7. Mascara:
The Rimmel London Lash Accelerator is my favorite mascara at the moment. I used to use it a couple of years ago, but didn't re-purchase it because I had a lot of other mascaras that I needed to use up first. I decided to pick it up again at Boots in London, because I remembered how much I used to love it. I'm so happy that I decided to pick it up again, because I have fallen in love with it all over again.

I love that it doesn't clump or make my lashes stick together. It gives my lashes nice length and volume and it's build able as well. I will definitely be picking up a couple of backups of this mascara soon! :-)

♥ Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette, HERE

♥ Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette, HERE

8. Eyeshadow:
Neutral eyeshadows have always been a weakness of mine when it comes to beauty products, because they are some of my favorite products to test and try out. I always find single eyeshadows or palettes that I want to try out, regardless if I have something similar to it in my collection already.

One of my favorite and most used palettes is the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. It's such a nice, every day kind of palette. The eyeshadows are soft and they feel quite smooth, they are nicely pigmented and easy to blend. I really want to get my hands on the Naked Basics 2 palette, it looks gorgeous. What do you think about it? Have you picked it up yet? It's available at Sephora, HERE! :-)

♥ Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow, HERE

9. Brows:
Definitely Gimme Brow by Benefit Cosmetics. It's been my go-to brow product for a month now and I couldn't be any more happier with it. I have never been good at filling in my brows with powder, so this has been a big game changer for my brows. It's really quick and easy to use and it makes the brows look very natural and pretty. I reviewed it a couple of weeks ago. If you haven't seen it yet, you can find it HERE! :-)

♥ Carmex Lip Balm in Cherry, HERE

10. Lip Product:
I'm not going to lie, I have become a little addicted to the Carmex Lip Balm in Cherry and it has quickly turned into a big favorite of mine. It feels nice on the lips without being greasy or sticky. I love applying it at night right before I go to bed, because it make my lips so smooth and soft when I wake up the next morning. I reviewed it a while ago. If you missed it,  you can find it HERE! :-)

Tag your it! I want to see your top 10 favorite products. If you have already done this tag, please leave the link to your post down below, because I would love to check it out! :-)

What do you think about the Top 10 Tag? Have you done it on your blog? Have you tried out any of the products above? :-) Love, Christine♥

BENEFIT COSMETICS GIMME BROW BROW-VOLUMIZING FIBER GEL IN LIGHT/MEDIUM: REVIEW, PHOTOS & SWATCHES

The Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow ($22.00 for 3.0g Net wt. 0.1oz.) is a brow-volumizing fiber gel. It adheres to the skin and hair, creating brows where before there were none. It builds easily for thick, lush arches, thanks to a tapered brush for blending and a precision tip for shaping. The fiber gel is water resistant, long lasting, and build able for natural-looking brows.

♥ Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Brow-Volumizing Fiber Gel.

The best way to apply the Gimme Brow is to use short pressing motions. Stroke the brush tip along the brow to define the shape and give the brow some color. If you want a natural look, start at the inner edge of the brow and move outwards. Comb through to blend everything together. If you want to add more volume to your brows, you can definitely build it up. Keep in mind that if you do decide to build it up, the brows are going to feel a bit stiff. But it's going to help them stay in place throughout the day.

The Gimme Brow sets pretty quickly and it doesn't have a very wet formula. It doesn't fade away during the day either, which is another thing that I really like about this brow-volumizing fiber gel from Benefit Cosmetics. Before I heard about Gimme Brow, I used to use the e.l.f. Cosmetics Eyebrow Treat & Tame. I did like it a lot. It gave my brows shape and a nice color, but it faded away after a while. This stays in place until I remove it with a makeup remover wipe. It's safe to say that I won't be going back to the Eyebrow Treat & Tame from e.l.f. Cosmetics, not as long as Gimme Brow is available for purchase! :-)

♥ Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Brow-Volumizing Fiber Gel.

♥ Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Brow-Volumizing Fiber Gel.

Gimme Brow comes in a brown and black tube with a cute polka dot design. The tube is quite small, which makes it very easy to just throw in your handbag for touch ups throughout the day or even for travel. I like how small the brush is, because it gives me more control over the application and it's less messy as well.

The brush doesn't distribute too much product at once, which is great. Just the right amount of product, not too little nor too much. It's got a quite strong scent though, which I'm not the biggest fan of. But when it's on the brows, the scent isn't as noticeable anymore.

Overall, I have never been good at filling in my brows with powder, so Benefit Cosmetics's Gimme Brow has been a total lifesaver for me. It gives my brows definition and a lovely tint of color, which looks really natural. I have been using it almost every single day since I bought it and I have developed an obsession with it. It's such a lovely product, I will definitely be re-purchasing it when I run out.

Please excuse the brows, I need to get them done soon! :-)
