Water Marbling might look difficult, but its actually very easy to do. If you want to learn how you can create unique designs with Water Marbling, just keep reading :)
♥ Start of by applying a base coat to protect your natural nails. Apply any nail polish of your choice, this is going to be our base color for the Water Marbling design that we are going to create next. I'm using Steady As She Rose by OPI. Apply some tape around all of your nails to prevent a huge mess, your nails should only be showing.
♥ Take a cup and fill it with room temperature water. Make sure that your cup is big enough to fit your finger in it. Then add a drop of nail polish in the water. You will see that it will create a circle. Keep adding drops of colors until you are happy with how it looks. Make sure that the nail polish lids are open. You have to work fast because the nail polish is going to dry completely and then you have to start over again.
♥ After you have finished adding the colors of your choice, take a toothpick or an orange stick and lightly drag it around in the nail polish to create a design. When you are happy with how your design looks, dip your nail into the design.
♥ With your nail still in the water, take your toothpick or orange stick and swirl it around your finger so it don't mess up your design. The orange stick picks up all the excess polish so your design won't be ruined when you remove your finger from the water.
♥ Let the design dry a little before you remove the tape. After you have removed the tape, take some nail polish remover on a cotton pad and clean up any trace of nail polish around your nails. Finish of with a top coat to prevent your design from chipping away :)
Products I used:
♥ NYX Ridge Filler Base Coat.
♥ OPI Steady As She Rose.
♥ China Glaze Laced Up.
♥ Wet N' Wild Ebony Hates Chris.
What I love about this nail art technique, is that every design you create is going to look different on each of your nails. You can get very creative with Water Marbling which I think is super fun. You might have to give it a few tries before you get the hang of it, but when you do, you are going to have so much fun with it :)
