GLOSSYBOX: OCTOBER 2013

Hey Everyone :-)
How are you doing today? How is your week going? Are you looking forward to the weekend? My October GlossyBox arrived a few days ago, so I thought I would show you the items that I received in my box. The October GlossyBox was put together by Mari Midtstigen, which is the editor for a Norwegian magazine called DET NYE :-)

Products I received in my October box:
Matrix Exquisite Oil - HERE.
MATRIX Biolage Colorcaretherapie Shine Shake - HERE.
Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Optimizing Skin Serum - HERE.
Oriflame Volume Build Mascara - HERE.
FNUG Nail Polish in Flower Power - HERE.
Trind Nail Repair - HERE

There are definitely some goodies in the October box. One off the items that I'm very excited to try out is the FNUG nail polish in Flower Power. I have heard great things about this brand and the color is just right up my alley. I have been really into darker nail polishes lately, there is just something about them that I love!

I'm also looking forward to trying out the Oriflame Volume Build Mascara. I've never tried any makeup products by Oriflame before, so that's definitely going to be interesting. It's always fun to try out new products.

I don't really care much for all the hair stuff that's in the box, but I do look forward to trying out the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Optimizing Skin Serum. It's always fun to test out new skin care products and Elizabeth Arden is a brand that I have heard great things about :-)

What do you think about the October box? Are you subscribed to GlossyBox? :-) Love, Christine♥

SWATCH OF THE WEEK VOL.1: ESSIE VESTED INTEREST

Hey Everyone :-)
How are you doing on this lovely Wednesday? I hope that you are doing great, and that you are having a fun week so far! I have another new blog post heading your way, and it's called Swatch Of The Week.

In these blog posts, I will be showing you swatches off a random beauty product in my collection, as well as a short and sweet little review off the product. I will be doing these type off blog posts once a week, so be sure to stay tuned for more swatches and goodness :-)

 ♥ Swatch: Essie Vested Interest.

 ♥ Swatch: Essie Vested Interest.

Essie Vested Interest is a pretty, dusty greenish grey nail polish, which is part of Essie's Fall 2013 collection. It's very creamy and easy to apply, but it's a little sheer on the first coat. The consistency is a little thick, but not too much. It's nice and fully opaque in two-three coats.

Vested Interest is such a beautiful shade and it screams Fall to me. I highly recommend checking out this shade, especially if you have a thing for darker shades, I think you would love this one! You can find Vested Interest HERE! :-)

What do you think about Vested Interest? What's your favorite nail polish by Essie? :-) Love, Christine♥

SNEAK PEEK: CIATE MINI MANI MONTH 2013 ADVENT CALENDAR

Hey Everyone :-)
How are you doing today? Hope you are having a lovely Sunday! I recently ordered the Ciate Mini Mani Month advent calendar from Cloud 10 Beauty, and it finally arrived on my doorstep last night! If you are a nail polish lover like myself, I really do think that this is something that you are going to enjoy a lot!
Simon got me the Ciate Mini Mani Month last December (check out my posts from last year HERE), and I had a lot off fun opening it up and going through all the nail polishes and caviar pearls. I will be posting a new blog post each day in December (like I did last year), with pictures and swatches off the nail polishes inside the advent calendar :-)

I'm really looking forward to December now, and I can't wait to open this baby up. I might just have to ask Simon if he can hide it from me until December 1st, I'm not sure if I can keep my paws away from it until then, LOL! :-)

PS: There might be a sneaky little giveaway coming your way later today, so keep your eyes open :-)

Disclaimer:
This product(s) was gifted to me by my lovely mom.

What do you think about the Ciate Mini Mani Month advent calendar? Are you excited about all the upcoming nail posts in December? Have you picked up a beauty advent calendar? :-)

MY MONTHLY FAVORITES: OCTOBER 2013

Hey Everyone :-)
How are you doing today? How is your weekend going so far? Any fun plans for the evening? I can't believe that it's November already! Christmas is right around the corner, which makes me oh so happy. Is it too early to start shopping for Christmas presents? I don't think so, LOL!!!

It's been a while since I have done a monthly favorites post, so I thought it was time for me to finally do one again. So without further ado, here are the items that I have been loving for the month off October :-)

♥ MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle.

♥ MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle.

♥ Swatch: MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle is probably my all-time favorite highlighter. It's a very pretty champagne highlighter which looks stunning on all skin tones, and it gives the face the most beautiful glow. I also like to use it as an eyeshadow/inner corner highlighter.

I've had this baby for a couple off years now and it's still going strong. If you are looking for a new highlighter, I highly recommend that you check this one out. I know it's a little expensive, but I think that this is a product that is totally worth the money and it's going to last you a very long time. Soft and Gentle is a total must have in my book :-)

♥ MAC Paint Pot in Painterly.

♥ MAC Paint Pot in Painterly.

♥ Swatch: MAC Paint Pot in Painterly.

I'm a huge fan off MAC Paint Pots and Painterly has been my go-to paint pot for the entire month off October. It's a pretty nude beige shade, which completely neutralizes the blue veining on my eye lids and preps them for eyeshadow application. Painterly can be used on it's own, but I prefer to just use it as a base before I apply my eyeshadow. It makes the eyeshadow last longer and it also makes the color off the eyeshadow a little brighter as well.

If you are thinking about picking up a paint pot by MAC, I highly recommend Painterly. If you already have Painterly in your collection, Bare Study is another great choice. I'm thinking about doing a MAC paint pot collection post with swatches soon, is that something you would be interested in seeing? :-)

♥ Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick 08 & NARS Lipstick in Blonde Venus.

♥ Swatch: Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick 08 & NARS Lipstick in Blonde Venus.

The Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in 08 is one off my favorite lipsticks at the moment. It's such a beautiful, deeper shade that feels very soft and smooth on the lips. It doesn't feel drying at all, and it's got a sweet scent which I really like. I have been really into more darker shades for Fall and Winter, and this is a great pick :-)

Another lipstick that I have been enjoying for the month off October is Blonde Venus by NARS. Blonde Venus is a lot lighter and more on the browner side, than the Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in 08. It's easy to apply, and it feels very smooth and soft on the lips too. It doesn't feel drying on the lips, nor does it have an unpleasant scent :-)

♥ NYX Powder Blush in Peach.

♥ NYX Powder Blush in Peach.

♥ Swatch: NYX Powder Blush in Peach.

The powder blushes by NYX Cosmetics are some of my favorite blushes off all time. Peach is a pretty peachy pink blush with no shimmer/glitter, and it's one of my favorite shades in their entire powder blush range. It blends easily into the skin and it's a great everyday shade for your cheeks. I have been using Peach for almost the entire month off October and I just can't get enough off it :-)

♥ Make Up For Ever HD Powder.

♥ Make Up For Ever HD Powder.

I'm a big fan of the Make Up For Ever HD Powder. I bought this product at Sephora in Paris, and I have been loving it ever since. I use it to set my under eye concealer, and it works perfect for that. I just use a tiny amount of powder to set the concealer, and it keeps it in place during the entire day :-)

What do you think about my favorites for the month off October? What products have you been loving for the October month? :-) Love, Christine♥

ROUGE BUNNY ROUGE SWELL BLISS XXX LIP PLUMPER IN HEATHER ROYAL JELLY: REVIEW, PHOTOS & SWATCHES

♥ Rouge Bunny Rouge Swell Bliss XXX Lip Plumper in Heather Royal Jelly.

My Thoughts:
Rouge Bunny Rouge Swell Bliss XXX Lip Plump in Heather Royal Jelly (5.5 ml/0.19 floz for €23.53) is a pretty nude-pink lip plumper with pretty micro shimmer. The consistency off the gloss is quite thick, and it feels very smooth and soft on the lips. It has a lot of shimmer but since it's very fine, you won't be able to feel it on the lips. It doesnt feel drying and it doesn't have that sticky feeling like some glosses do. It actually feels very soft and moisturizing.

Heather Royal Jelly has that tingly feeling, which you are probably quite familiar with. I personally don't mind it, I actually enjoy it a lot. I have a few off the bare escentuals BUXOM lip plumpers and I find that those can be a little painful at times. This doesn't sting your lips at all, it actually feels quite comfortable on the lips. Heather Royal Jelly has that minty scent and taste, which I personally like and find very refreshing :-)

Rouge Bunny Rouge definitely knows a thing or two about packaging, don't you agree? The product comes in a clear tube with a black handle, and a beautiful floral design on the front off the tube. I absolutely love the packaging, it's gorgeous and very elegant :-)

Overall, I do think that this is a great choice if you are looking for a new lip plumper to add to your collection. The shade is really pretty and it feels very smooth and soft on the lips. This is not one of those uncomfortable lip plumpers, that's going to make your lips hurt like crazy. It doesn't have that really sticky feeling either, which is a big plus in my book. Heather Royal Jelly is a little more on the pricier side though, but the quality is fantastic and definitely worth checking out :-)
